Setting up PayPal Website Payments Standard.

1. Login to your admin panel and go to the "Store settings"->"Payment methods" page.

2. Select "PayPal Website Payments Standard" in the "Available Payment Methods" field and move it to the "Selected Payment Methods" field. Click "Save".

3. After the page is reloaded you will see the "PayPal Website Payments Standard" link in the "Selected Payment Methods" section at the top. Click on the link.

4. On the opened page, set the module status to "Active", specify the email that is used to login to PayPal in the "E-mail Address" field, set up the other parameters and click "Save".

After that the payment option will be available in the storefront.


Now you need to configure your Paypal's merchant account. You must enable 'Auto return' and 'IPN' settings, so your payment status can be updated automatically.

  1. Follow the below steps to configure the return URL,
  1. Login to your Paypal's merchant account.
  2. Go to Profile >> My Selling Tools >> Website preferences
  3. Click on update button. On next window, enable 'Auto Return'.
  4. And enter Return URL: http://your-store-url.com/order_placed.php?asc_action=SetCurrStep/step_id=4
  5. If you want you can enable 'Payment Data Transfer (optional)'


  1. Follow the below steps to configure IPN settings,
  1. Login to your Paypal's merchant account.
  2. Go to Profile >> My Selling Tools >> Instant payment notifications
  3. Enable IPN by entering Notification URL: http://your-store-url.com/checkout.php?asc_action=ConfirmOrder
